AE Interest:
The UK’s first “air rights” building, atop Charing Cross Station; received the highest BREEAM rating when completed in 2013 with a score of 96.31%; cooling systems use recycled vegetable oil waste that is refined locally; open floor plan and large atrium spaces allow for significant natural light; roof gardens and green walls; 40% less carbon than buildings of similar size [a].
