Building: Crawford Art Gallery Extension
Location: Cork, Ireland
Completion Date: 2000
Architect: Erick van Egeraat Associated Architects
AE Interests: The extension Egeraat designed resolved the prior circulation problems by linking the two isolated gallery’s wings to the rest of the building. Curvaceous brick skin bulges out and appears to float above the gallery’s contemporary shop-front window.

Limerick County Hall – Limerick County, Ireland

Building: Limerick County Hall, Local Government Office
Location: Limerick County, Ireland
Completion Date: 2003
Architect: Bucholz McEvoy Architects
Engineering: Building Services/MEP Engineering ; Edith Blennerhassett
AE Interests: Ventilation zones, natural ventilation, thermal modeling, internal lighting and other modern methods give the building enduring benefits.  Entirely uses natural ventilation by maximizing the performance of the building’s structure and skin. The building is oriented 15 degrees off due N-S in order to allow the atrium to act as long thermal chimney.

Galbally Social Housing – Galbally, Ireland

Building: Galbally Social Housing
Location: Galbally, County Limerick, Ireland
Completion Date: 2002
Architect: O’Donnell + Tuomey Architects
AE Interests: Simplistic, traditional domestic forms and details to create both contextual and contemporary architecture. Monolithic roofs, defined recesses, and continuous eaves. O’Donnell and Tuomey designed the two roof lines to be pitched to counter each other and they chose to step their porch thresholds with the contour of the site.
