Posted in Built by lindseylohberg2009 on January 26, 2010

Building: 30 Finsbury Square
Location: 30 Finsbury Square, London, England
Completed: 2002
Architect: Eric Parry Architects
Structural Engineers: Whitbybird
Mechanical and Electrical Engineers: Hilson Moran Partnership Ltd.
Client: Scottish Widows plc

AE Interests: Flexible office space is achieved from having no internal columns, a glass curtain wall is set back from the outer stone facade, the depth of the facade provides solar shading and acts as a load-bearing element.

Floor to ceiling curtain wall, with load bearing skin. Load bearing stone and precast concrete facades eliminate the need for an internal steel structure. Forces flow from the lateral beams, to the facade, to the pre-tensioned piers.
