AE Interests: Angular shaped building was determined by positioning around the old pine trees, all floors accessible by ramps and not stairs, ventilation slots are cut into a trapezoidal ramp that conceals the HVAC system, steel-clad facade.

AE Interests: Service cores on the western edge of the building allow for fully glazed facades, arched roof, energy efficiency is maintained with: motorized blinds, solar performance glazing, and a grid of fine aluminum louvers.

AE Interests: Walls, floors, and ceilings are made of concrete cast in situ; reinforced concrete frame, galvanized-steel panels are hinged for ventilation, black Alwitra roofing membrane, south facing exterior double-glazed panel can slid across to open up one wall of the living room.

AE Interests: Building is conceived as “inside-out” with a wooden exterior and concrete interior, the exterior is actually a fibrous mock-timber rain screen, the interior walls are a textured concrete.

AE Interests: Flexible office space is achieved from having no internal columns, a glass curtain wall is set back from the outer stone facade, the depth of the facade provides solar shading and acts as a load-bearing element.

Floor to ceiling curtain wall, with load bearing skin. Load bearing stone and precast concrete facades eliminate the need for an internal steel structure. Forces flow from the lateral beams, to the facade, to the pre-tensioned piers.

AE Interests: Glass canopies cover station entrances; fair-faced concrete, stainless steel, and glass were the only materials used in the stations construction; concrete diaphragm tunnel walls are left exposed.

AE Interests: Extension and refurbishment of a 1960’s villa: folded and displaced ground planes, V-columns, optical/structural illusion, inside-out and upside-down, facade is made of a timber plate, suspended stair hangs from walls of stainless steel mesh.

AE Interests: The building is a giant inverted capital letter ‘L’, cantilevered overhang held up by diagonal columns, concrete frame for natural cooling, “tongue” on the roof acts as a shade for ventilation shafts, the north face is covered in multi-colored glass panels and the rest of the exterior is made of copper.

AE Interests: the design of the building is two sheets which fold and interlock to accommodate the range of programs like learning/teaching to social gathering and circulation, the concrete slab is treated as a transformable surface to fit each program, the larger auditorium is enclosed by two walls with one being made of a laminated holographic film that changes from transparent to translucent depending on the location of the viewer
