AE Interests: The performance hall hosts 566 seats and has spaces for the School of Music and the Departments of Drama, Film and Media at Queen’s University. The combination of symmetrical walls with an asymmetrical ceiling proved to be optimal in terms of acoustic capabilities. A large outer poured-in-place concrete wall controls airborne noise, helping achieve complete sound isolation.

AE Interests: Is the world’s largest climatized reading space, and China’s largest load bearing glass system. Throughout 2024 they had almost 4 million visitors. The panels on the roof are meant to mimic ginkgo tree leaves, with the interior mirroring the course of the neighboring Tonghui river.
