AE Interests: Murcutt’s careful design and choice of materials for this house is greatly influenced by his desire to allow light to permeate the house just as the light permeates the foliage that surrounds it. The roof serves not only as a shelter but also is designed to collect water which is then used as drinking water as well as toilet water.

AE Interests: Major goal of Murcutt was to cool the house. This is achieved by having the house on stilts to allow cool air to flow beneath it. Also, he uses pivoting tubes along the roof which expel hot air and vertical fins to direct cooling winds into the home.
