It currently is the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world.

Interests: The design consists of nine translucent wings arranged like leaves that filter sunlight through out the day. AE Interests: 143 m tall (469 ft) building includes 2 large cantilevers in the tower mass, 3 sky gardens, 248 residential apartments, a 150-room hotel, 42 levels, a spa, two restaurants, and a triple-height lobby.  Designed with sustainability in mind, the hotel portion will earn the BREEAM “Outstanding” ranking, while the residential component of the tower will earn a Level Four ranking from the Code for Sustainable Homes.  Recycled concrete and steel are to be utilized in the construction of the tower.

AE Interests: This 35 story, 200 room, five-star hotel is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “World’s Most Inclined Tower”, leaning 18º, four times farther than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The structure is supported by a pre-cambered reinforced concrete core. While the specialized foundation is comprised of nearly five hundred 100-foot piles and a 7-foot deep reinforced concrete base. The facade consists of a diagrid exoskeleton made of interlocking diamond-shaped glass panels.

AE interests: Complex steel structure as well as pier foundation system.  Some of the spans are in excess of 150 feet.  The main convention floor is spanned by a combination of 3 catenery trusses and one arch truss that are approximately 1 1/2 stories, extending into the partitions walls of the third floor. The concept is a box on top of a box with the upper level rotated approximately 20 degrees.  Additionally, the terrace on the second level over the main entrance is supported by two cantilevered trusses.  The skin of the building is a combination of glass and perforated copper.
