AE Interest: location of building (on a busy street), borders main music building, connects old structure with the new structure, brings local topography into building design, accommodates evolving interior space design, building is designed to look like exposed strata that had eroded from large mountains, rectangular structure, eight stories, a deep concrete band on one side 20 feet up from the ground, long staggered strip windows, black and gray zinc cladding.
