Birthplace of Californian modernism; integrates both indoor and outdoor spaces to suit the Californian climate with two L-shaped areas separated into four studio spaces, two semi-sheltered rooftop sleeping spaces, a communal kitchen with clerestory windows, and two grass patios (one for each family) with sunken gardens that are visible and accessible from the interior through redwood sliding door panels
One of the first buildings to incorporate “slab-tilt” concrete wall construction
