Building Name: La Maison de Verre (The Glass House)
Location: Paris, France
Architect: Pierre Chareau, Bernard Bijvoet
Completed: 1932

AE Interest: Mixed industrial, traditional, and modern styles through the use of skeleton frame steel construction with transparent, light-weight frosted glass and industrial glass blocks. Interior spacial divisions characterized by bare steel beams and mechanical elements, including an overhead trolley, a retracting stair, and a rotating screen to hide/frame the stairs.
