Building: StreetDome
Location: Haderslev, DK
Completed: 2014
Area: 1,500 m² street dome, 4,500 m² skate park, best estimate Client: Haderslev Municipality, Skatecity
Architects: CEBRA, Glifberg+Lykke
Engineer: Rambøll
Construction: Hoffmann, Grindline
Project Development: Morten Hansen, Skatecity

AE Interest: “To reduce running costs, the hall is unheated and lit primarily through daylight while the building’s surface area has been minimized through its dome shape … Wide gates open to the outside connecting the surrounding skate park with the inside floor, creating a seamless flow … StreetDome forms one continuous and varied spatial course …”

Due to strength of structural integrity of the dome, interior load-bearing structures are not needed, freeing up space for any particular sporting arrangement.

Similar to other skateparks but atypical of traditional structures, community input was highly requested and directly influenced construction.
